Superb quality: submerged timbers from Panama
We have been working with these fine submerged timbers since 2010 – for good reason: these treasures from Panama are not only beautiful to behold, but also enormously resistant to weather effects. These ancient timbers are salvaged without disturbing native peoples or interfering with the ecological balance. Then they're off to northern Germany, where these rare beauties from Central America are of course extremely welcome…
RCD Treppensysteme
In May 2011, we became a member of RCD Treppensysteme: this extends our
product range with a floating staircase design which has building
authority approval and which is not banister-supporting, permitting
lower handrail widths than in stringer stairs.

- With a new compressor system made by Kaeser, Series ASD FSC, optimum energy savings of up to 50% are achieved at low speeds and with a speed-controlled 1:1 direct drive without transmission losses and in addition a heat recovery option is installed to retrieve more than 90% of the heat energy generated and feed it into the heating system.
- Starting in May, a new central vacuum station made by Busch ensures, with two regulated vacuum pumps, optimum use of the required vacuum capacities, superseding six permanently running vacuum pumps made by Homag – here too an energy savings potential of more than 40% has been achieved.
- Changeover of our lighting systems to energy-saving fluorescent lamps. By cutting the power to our entire lighting system in the plant using light intensity sensors, an energy saving of up to 30% will be achieved.

There are new timber types from flood plains along the Panama Canal, and they're available from Treppenbau Voss – these submerged timbers have been studied by universities and found to have out-of-the-ordinary characteristics in respect of their toughness and appearance, in some cases being classed as rot-proof.
Treppenbau Voss is expanding its office and exhibition space at its Reinfeld location by purchasing the directly adjacent building Grootkoppel 21.
When completely rebuilt, it will house a "home world" of superb quality over an area of more than 450 sq.m. Its opening is scheduled for autumn 2012.
Furthermore, installation of a new and right up-to-date sanding line in January 2011. This investment ensures more effective working processes plus a brilliant surface finish.
